75th Anniversary of Hiroshima

Nobel peace laureate Mairead Maguire calls for

“The abolition of genocidal nuclear weapons, war and nuclear scientists to refuse to make genocidal weapons which threaten humanity with extinction”.

On 6th August 2020, the 75th anniversary of the genocidal bombing of Hiroshima and on 10th August 2020 the genocidal bombing of Nagasaki, by USA military, people around the world will remember these acts of criminality against unarmed civilians in Japan.

Mairead Maguire, Nobel Peace Laureate, of The Peace People, Belfast, called for the abolition of genocidal nuclear weapons and said –

‘I support the International Campaign against Nuclear weapons/Global Harmony Association proposed Anti-nuclear Manifesto for the salvation of humanity from the all-consuming suicidal genocidal nuclear fire, first tested 75 years ago on civilians in Hiroshima/Nagasaki, 250,000 of whom we burned alive and many more civilians injured. Several years ago I visited Los Alamos, New Mexico, where scientists continue to make these murderous weapons of mass destruction and store them in the mountainside.  It was from here in l945 came the nuclear weapons that bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  We as the human family must replace nuclear weapons and war with nonviolence and peace solutions..’
