Press Releases
This week the World’s political leaders stood united in admiration at the Memorial service in South Africa to honour the memory of Nelson Mandela, Leader of his country, and a man of courage who gave inspiration to many people around the world. Across the world in East Jerusalem in solitude sits another man of courage Mordechai Vanunu. In l986 Vanunu, the Israeli Nuclear whistle-blower, told the world about Israel’s secret nuclear Weapons. For this he served 18 years in an Israeli prison, 12 in solitary confinement, and since his release in 2004 he has been forbidden to leave Israel, speak to foreigners, and is constantly under surveillance. Sweden/Uk Governments Block Any U.S. Administrations Retaliation Against Julian Assange

Campaigns
Once again (last visited Dec. 2012) on Wednesday 6th November, 2013, I had the privilege of having a private visit with Julian Assange, Founder of Wikileaks, who is currently seeking asylum in the embassy lest he be arrested by UK authorities, taken to Sweden for questioning on alleged sexual allegations, and then illegally extradited to USA to face a grand jury on alleged espionage charges. I hope that they will have their prayers answered and the Irish Republican Army, some of whose members carried out the ‘disappearances’ , have a special responsibility to help in these cases. The ‘troubles’ held Northern Ireland in captivity for almost 40 years and although many people had the courage to cut the bonds of division, sectarianism…

Peace in Syria

Campaigns, Syria
Speech by Mairead Maguire in Warsaw, Poland. October, 21-23, 2013 At The World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates Dear Friends, In May, 2013 I led a 16 person peace delegation into Syria at the invitation of Mussalaha National Movement. What we witnessed happening inside Syria was not fairly depicted in the International media which was not reporting gross violations against international law and humanitarian international law by foreign countries and fighters that are using a proxy war for the purpose of Regime change and geo-strategical benefits. We would remind those foreign governments who are training and funding foreign fighters that it is it is illegal under united nations Charter to arm forces to topple elected governments. During our visit we witnessed that the civilian population was and still is, suffering…
