March For Tibet In Washington

Mr. Gerry Grehan, Chairperson, and Mairead Corrigan Maguire, spent a week in Washington in July 2000. During this time they joined with Julia Taft, Harry Wu, Richard Gere, Kerry Kennedy, in addressing ICT members. They also meet with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Prominent individuals, including Nobel Laureate Mairead Maguire, ICT Chairman Richard Gere, US. Co-ordinator for Tibetan Issues Julia Taft, Chinese human rights campaigner, Harry Wu, Tibetan Religious leader, Agya Rinpoche, and Chairman of the Tibetan Cabinet, Kalon Sonam Topgyal, were among those who addressed ICT members at the event, Mobilization for Tibet, on 2nd July in Washington, D.C., These and other guests spoke at the event prior to the Questions and Answers session with the Dalai Lama. Nobel Laureate Maguire urged for the building of a better world.."a world where our Tibetan brothers and sisters can be happy and free".ICT Chairman Gere called the ICT members "warriors of the heart" who have given ICT the power to do something for Tibet.
